SPECIAL EVENTS AT BPC

Thank you for considering Bidwell Presbyterian Church for your function. We have affordable, comfortable spaces that are available for day and evening rental. Our accessible lower level space features a large reception hall that comfortably holds up to 200 people for a sit-down meal and is equipped with specialty lighting, audiovisual, and sound equipment. We also have a commercially licensed kitchen and certified hospitality staff that are skilled in providing restaurant-quality meals for any size of a group. Our beautiful sanctuary seats 430 with 52 pews and a center aisle 61’6” in length is a spectacular setting for weddings (wedding process above). We have several small to medium-sized rooms that are also equipped with sound and audio-visual equipment and provide on-site staff (event coordinator, sound/visual technician, and custodian) to ensure that your event is successful.

Getting Started
Submitting a FACILITY USE REQUEST FORM starts the process of requesting an event at BPC. Upon receipt of the request form, we will review your proposed date(s) against our master calendar.  If your dates are available, our Event Coordinator will connect with you to schedule an initial meeting to learn more about your event. Catering

Our hospitality staff provides delicious, restaurant-quality meals as well as beautiful presentations.  We provide a Food Service Form to assist organizations in planning their event meals.  We recommend that this form is completed at the same time the Facility Request Form is being submitted.  Completed Food Service Forms should be emailed to lhall@bidwellpres.org at the beginning of your process.  Lea, our Hospitality Director, and Event Coordinator will discuss your meal options at the time of the initial meeting.

What is Provided in our Rental?
Tables (we have both rectangular and round) along with chairs. BPC staff will open and close the building before and after your event. Should you need additional time setting up, please indicate so on the Facility Use Request Form.  Depending upon the complexity of your event, our Event Coordinator may also be onsite to ensure that your event starts off well. Because we want to ensure that technical difficulties don’t derail your event, we will also provide a BPC Sound Technician.
Who Can Rent The Facility?
Our facility is available for weddings, memorials, as well as for not for profit events, however, there is no guarantee, or right to use BPC facilities by any non-BPC group.  Completing and submitting a Facility Use Request Form starts the approval process.  BPC Ministry events have priority.  BPCFacility Use Policy and 131 Addendum

WEDDINGS AT BPC

We are delighted you are considering having your wedding ceremony take place at Bidwell Presbyterian Church. The historic charm of the Bidwell sanctuary has served as the backdrop for many weddings over the years and our beautiful location that offers several elegant options for your wedding and reception. We are blessed to have professional and friendly staff who strive to make weddings special and most memorable. Getting Started
We have an ONLINE REQUEST FORM that starts our process. Once the form is received, we ensure that our facility and staff are available for the date(s) requested. If available, an initial meeting will be scheduled between the Bride/Groom and officiating pastor. It will be at this meeting that the pastor will approve the wedding request. Once approved, your wedding will be confirmed on our calendar and one of our wedding coordinators will be in contact and will provide you with a packet of information.
How Much Does it Cost?
The fee for utilizing Bidwell Presbyterian Church as the setting for your wedding is $980. This fee includes Bidwell Pres pastor, sound technician, wedding coordinator, facility use, and custodian. Depending on other elements of your ceremony, additional charges can be incurred. You will have the use of the facility for your rehearsal and 4.5 hours on the day of, typically starting 2.5 hours prior to the time of your wedding and 1.5 hours after your wedding.

What is Marriage
We believe that marriage is a covenant between a woman and a man who, before God, make a lifelong commitment to each other and is a gift given by God, blessed by Jesus Christ and sustained by the Holy Spirit and that a wedding ceremony marks the beginning of a union between the husband and wife and Christ, and celebrates God’s plan for marriage.

We consider it an honor and privilege to share in this most significant chapter of your lives as you approach your wedding day and begin the first year of the wonderful adventure of marriage. Our hope is to provide you with strong support as you commit yourself to a lifetime together in Christian marriage. Therefore, it is our polity that weddings are conducted under the direction of one of our pastors. If you have a preference for a particular pastor, your request will be honored, if possible. We have been able to honor requests for guest pastors to participate and invite you to discuss this with the officiating pastor at your first meeting. During the months leading up to your ceremony, several meetings will occur in order for you and the pastor to discuss Christian marriage (the joys and responsibilities) and to finalize details regarding your wedding ceremony.

Planning Process
We realize that planning a wedding is full of decisions and deadlines. To assist you with this, we provide a wedding coordinator as your Bidwell point of contact. Our wedding coordinators are gifted professionals that understand our theology and processes and work with brides and grooms in answering their inquiries and ensuring their wedding day is perfect. If you are working with an independent wedding coordinator for your wedding day, they are welcome to attend the rehearsal and the ceremony, however, rehearsals and ceremonies are conducted under the direction of our wedding coordinator.
When can we have our wedding?
Rehearsals are usually scheduled at 4 or 5 pm on Fridays. The rehearsal is under the supervision of the Bidwell Pres wedding coordinator and Pastor. Weddings may be scheduled on Saturdays beginning at 11:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. or on Sundays anytime after 2:00 p.m. Our Sanctuary seats 480 guests with 52 pews and a center aisle 61’6” in length.
